Din of F105 (He/Him/His)

Musician

Din (formerly of The Soles), with his raw, expressive vocals, is the talent behind F-105.  Din released 5 albums with The Soles, performing hundreds of shows and festivals across North America, and garnishing multi-national radio play, including on Sirius XM.  As F-105, he released his first album in 2018. The lead track “Rebel Girl” made its debut on national CBC radio on July 21, 2018. It also received critical acclaim with Din’s global Star Wars fandom fan base – with wide coverage on popular Star Wars podcasts, which resulted in a headlining performance at Star Wars Celebration Chicago 2019.

Meriläinen Müsic Inc. is excited to announce the release of the 2nd album by F-105. F-105 II: Side B departs from the tight anthemic rock of F-105’s debut album, with a loose live-off-the-floor acoustic EP. “Side B” will be the second half of F-105 II, the first half, F-105 II: Side A, will be recorded and released at a later date. The decision to release “Side B” first came from the idea that half of the songs on the new F-105 album suited the backing of a full band, and half worked better as acoustic versions. Since Covid-19 restrictions made it difficult to record a full band live off the floor together, it made sense to record and release the solo, acoustic live songs first. Both sides of the album are to be recorded live-off-the-floor to be as honest as possible to how they were developed live and on tour over a 3-year period.

This collection of songs is a direct result of two life changing experiences for Din – touring the world in 2018-19 with shows in clubs and festivals across Canada, the U.S. and Europe (in support of the debut F-105 album), followed by the Covid-19 lockdowns and the resulting isolation. With this contradiction, the songs organically developed to tackle questions of looking inward to yourself, as well as reflecting on where life has
taken you and your place in this universe. This theme was further fueled by turning to daily meditation during the pandemic. The emotional experiences expressed in the songs are real, as is the influence of the locations mentioned. These compositions are a tuneful, introspective and unique approach to singer/songwriter/roots music.
