Esther Kern

Speaker-Activist

Esther Kern Immigrated to Canada in 1969 with a USA Vietnam War Resister and has been active in the London and Toronto War Resister campaigns.  Her Professional Career included earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and worked at the London Health Sciences Centre for 32 years as a Nurse Manager, Consultant; Educator, Employee Relations Officer, and RN Recruiter.  In 2004, she joined Christian Peacemaker Teams, an international human rights, justice and peace group, and has worked on projects located in Iraqi Kurdistan, Palestine, Colombia, USA/Mexico Borderlands, and Indigenous communities in Canada, and served as CPT Canada Coordinator.  Since 1997, Esther has participated in twenty-five Medical and Humanitarian Aid Missions to Russia, Cuba, and Honduras. On International Women’s Day, March 8, 2018, she received the Muriel Duckworth “Peace Activist” award, presented by the Canadian Voices of Women for Peace.
